The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons
of the State of New York
“225 years ago, while our country was in the midst of the Revolutionary War, a more peaceable event
occurred – the formation of New York’s Grand Lodge, an event that will be commemorated by all 54,000
members of the Masonic fraternity in NY State,” said Grand Master Neal I. Bidnick. “Here in the Monroe
District, we invite our fellow residents to participate in the very special anniversary events we have
planned. It is our sincere hope that members of the public will join us to mark this historic date and learn
about the tenets of Freemasonry that we hold dear – friendship, charity, morality, community service and
brotherly love.”
“To mark the 225th anniversary of the founding of its Grand Lodge, several events will be held during the
year. Among them are:
§ A special initiative for the Brotherhood Fund campaign
§ The 225th Anniversary Cruise
§ The dedication of a street sign, “Masonic Way,” on 23rd Street in front of our Grand Lodge building
§ A program on Rosslyn Chapel to be held in the Grand Lodge room. “
